Moremi Game Reserve

The Moremi Game Reserve – situated in the eastern side of the Okavango Delta – covers almost one-third of the Delta and combines permanent water with drier areas, which create some amazing contrasts.

Activities include morning and afternoon game drives and one can experience excellent views of game as well as bird-watching on the lagoons.  Witness Africa’s famed Big Five from the dramatic floodplains and, after an action-packed day, return to your Lodge to unwind.  Take a dip in the refreshing swimming pool, or share stories around the campfire at the traditional Boma.

Okavango Delta

The Okavango Delta – a tranquil and isolated oasis set in the harsh and arid surroundings of Botswana’s bush and desert – is considered as one of Africa’s best safari destinations, with its rich diversity of fauna and
flora.  The Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is considered one of the largest and most important inland wetlands of the world.

Water-based activities are conducted by experienced professional guides through the many meandering, reed-lined waterways. Roam the vast stretches of water from the comfort of a modern motorboat or explore
the Okavango Delta in the traditional “mokoro” (dugout canoe).

Guided bush walks are conducted on a number of the nearby islands, offering an opportunity to track some of the larger land-based species that inhabit this water wilderness. Birding opportunities are outstanding.

Spot game from the sky with a unique helicopter safari, guided by an expert local environmentalists (available at Khwai River Lodge)

Chobe National Park

The Chobe National Park – located in the Northern part of Botswana and lies along the Chobe River, bordering with Botswana and Namibia. The National Park is home to the largest concentration of African Elephant in the world, and is also renowned as a top class birding destination.  Early-morning and late-afternoon game drives are conducted by expert guides in open-sided 4×4 vehicles, enjoying spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. While, riverside game viewing may be done by boats, perfect for morning or sunset cruises.

The national park is a dynamic wilderness, home to animals including leopard and klipspringer. Besides the thrilling wildlife encounters, you can also explore the evocative baobab grove and Bushmen paintings, thought
to be over 1,500 years old.

Makgadigadi Pans National Park

The Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, one of the largest salt pans in the world, stretches away from the banks of the Boteti River, through its hinterland of scrub and grassland. The Boteti River is the main outflow of
the Okavango Delta and the prominent baobab trees function as a local landmark.  For much of the year, this isolated area remains waterless and extremely arid, and thus large mammals cannot be seen.  However,
followed by seasonal rainfalls, the pans attract wildlife and the most amazing flamingos are seen at Sowa and Nata Sanctuary.

Leroo La Tau, translates as ‘lion’s paw’, is situated on the western bank of the Boteti River, north-west of Khumaga village, and about 140 kilometres south-east of Maun. The lodge offers guided day and night game drives.  Depending on the water level, boat activities are also provided. Optional cultural excursions can be arranged to Khumaga Village, as can guided nature walks in the area surrounding the lodge.

Please note:   owing to their remote location within the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, the Makgadikgadi Pans themselves are not visited on daily scheduled activities from Leroo La Tau.
